The rich history of Freedman's Town in Houston's Fourth Ward is now permanently etched in bronze.

Two markers were erected Monday, one at West Dallas and Heiner, another at West Gray and Taft.

The historical markers cover the the comnmunity's early history and major development in the 20th century.
