Detectives have recovered a knife from the home of Teketria Buggs and seized a car believed to have been used to transport her body according to a search warrant affidavit.
The Houston Chronicle said the report revealed how detectives uncovered an alleged attempt to destroy potential evidence such as bloody clothing.
Teketria's stepfather, Steven Carrington, confessed Friday to killing her, just hours after her funeral.
He has also confessed to killing his cousin, Corey Brooks, in 1998.
Carrington remains in the Fort Bend County Jail.
