Lambda Phi Epsilon's registration was canceled after an investigation revealed fraternity members were involved in hazing the night Jack Phoummarath, a student from Houston, died of alcohol poisoning.
Rep. Vo wrote the school's president, asking him to consider alternative punishments such as probation, community service or alcohol abuse training for the members.
Rep. Vo said canceling the fraternity, which is an Asian American interest group, is unfair.
The university said it is upholding its strict policy regarding hazing.
