I-45 lanes in Madison reopened

The southbound lanes of I-45 in Madison County (near milepost 140) have reopened. The northbound lanes are expected to reopen around 5 p.m.

The lanes were closed much of Tuesday while cleanup efforts continue on a
crash between an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning when a Jeep passing an
18-wheeler made contact with the truck, causing the truck to lose its load
on the median.

The Jeep driver suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was airlifted to Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
