Two companies that were rejected for the city's red-light camera contract are expected to ask the City Council to stop the project, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The companies claim the Houston Police Department's evaluation of competing businesses was unfair, according to the Chronicle.
HPD officials disagree and said they went out of their way to make sure the vendor selection process was as fair as possible.
Some City Council members feel it's good for thee issues to be raised but doubt they'll have an effect on the outcome, the Chronicle reported.
If City Council approves the project, the cameras will be installed at 50 intersections around the city, starting in May.
