HISD beefs up TAKS test security

HISD is taking steps to help prevent cheating on the TAKS test.

Special testing monitors will be in every school to help spot irregularities.

HISD will also implement tighter controls on who can administer tests, how long they will be administered and how test documents are protected before testing.

The new measures follow investigations by the 11 News Defenders and the Dallas Morning News which uncovered cheating at some HISD schools and problems with test security.

TAKS testing will begin next week.
