Man guilty of scheme promised windfall to Humble church

A man who helped lure Humble churchgoers into a bogus investment with promises of large returns has been found guilty of promoting a pyramid scheme, authorities told the Houston Chronicle.

Harvey Joseph Dockstader Jr., of Colorado City, Ariz., was sentenced to two years in state prison and a $10,000 fine, according to prosecutor Valerie Turner.
Dockstader peddled promises of riches to the congregation of the nondenominational Secret Place International Church.
Investors were promised a windfall in exchange for a $100 donation and after recruiting two new investors, the Chronicle reported.
