Fifteen more families who survived Hurricane Katrina found out last weekend that they’ll be getting a new home thanks to Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network and Habitat for Humanity. In November, Oprah announced the building of homes for families who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. Oprah returned to Houston over the weekend to tape two shows focusing on the home giveaways and the problems Katrina survivors are still dealing with. "What if every single thing I owned I possessed, acquired, was given was suddenly destroyed?" Oprah said. "How would I feel? The sense of depression of emptiness the sense of where do I even begin to start over and those kinds of feelings are what brought me to the idea of creating a whole new neighborhood for people." The homes will be completely furnished. |
