8-vehicle pileup closes I-10 East

I-10 East was shut down for hours after an 8-vehicle pileup that left at least one person dead.

The accident happened near the Trinity River Bridge around 11:30 a.m.

Three 18-wheelers and five other vehicles were involved, according to the Chambers County Sheriff's Department.

Traffic was backed up for miles.

The interstate was finally reopened just after 4 p.m.
