The first nine customers at each 99 Cent Only stores got iPod Nanos for only 99 cents.
The promotion is part of the chains' 999 days in Houston celebration.
The special didn't end with the iPods.
The next 99 customers could buy $25 scooters for 99-cents.
Other special offers continue through the weekend.
