A man was rescued from Galveston Bay Thursday morning after his car went off Highway 646. The Coast Guard and the Kemah Fire Department assisted a man from the water off Highway 646 between Kemah, Texas, and Texas City, Texas, at approximately 7:30 a.m. The identity of the man is unknown. He was found swimming in the water and was picked up by a Kemah Fire/Rescue boat crew. They transferred the man to a Galveston based Coast Guard rescue boat crew who transferred him to authorities on shore.
