This is the beginning of week seven of the criminal trial of former Enron CEOs Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling.
Andrew Fastow, Enron's former CFO, returns to the stand for more cross-examination. After two days last week of intense questioning by Skilling attorney Daniel Petrocelli, Ken Lay's team will take over Monday morning. Lay's lead attorney, Mike Ramsey, will conduct cross-examination that many expect to last a couple days.
Fastow, more than any other government witness, gave the jury a first hand account of what happened behind closed doors on Enron's 50th floor executive suites.
The 44-year-old, who pleaded guilty and will spend a decade in prison, gave damaging testimony about both Skilling and Lay. But Fastow was the first witness to directly point the finger at Lay. That will likely draw a lot of questions from Mike Ramsey on Monday morning.
