A former teacher accused of having sex with a student was in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Investigators said Shanika Campbell had sex with a 16-year-old boy at least three times, including once at the boy's home and twice at a hotel. Constables in west Harris County are keeping a close eye on a huge alligator spotted Tuesday.
Just before going to lunch Wednesday, the twelve jurors in the Enron trial asked their first question of the court. The judge granted part of the request and sent a note back asking them to be more specific about the second part. Houston City Council was busy Wednesday morning debating an issue that has divided many on whether to spend public money on a day labor site in east Houston.
