In what might seem like a strange request, Democrats Monday asked a federal judge to grant a permanent restraining order to keep Tom DeLay on the ballot in November. Republicans say DeLay no longer lives in Texas and is therefore disqualified from running. Some observers say Democrats have a better chance of winning the seat if DeLay is still on the ballot. DeLay, who is currently facing money laundering charges, stepped down from his seat in the house in early June. |
