A band of clouds stretching from Texas City to Angleton, west of Texas City
in Brazoria County, was dropping as much as 2 inches of rain an hour in
those areas.

The weather service expects 1 to 2 inches of rain tonight and into the
morning with some isolated areas with up to 5 to 10 inches possible.

Minor street flooding was reported throughout Galveston County.

Texas City reported flooding at the intersection of 9th Street and 9th
Avenue as well as the intersection of State Highway 3 and the 25th Street
Extension South.

The Galveston County office of Emergency management also reported flooding
along State Highway 87 in High Island.

There was also a good amount of standing water along the Interstate 45 South feeder road at Tiki Island just before the Galveston Causeway.
There were no reports of power outages.

"As Houston drains, the creek rises. Hopefully the rain will be light for us
so everything can continue to drain," said John Simsen the emergency management coordinator for Galveston County.
