Dozens of immigrant janitors protested in downtown against their employer accusing it of unfair labor practices. The workers filed a class-action lawsuit against Professional Janitorial Service of Houston to collect unpaid wages. The suit charges PJS employees were shortchanged by the company and were forced to wait an unreasonable amount of time to receive their first paycheck. PJS said there is no merit to the suit and it believes the litigation is a ploy to pressure the company to sign an agreement with the union representing the janitorial workers. |
