DePelchin Children's Center, Houston's oldest and largest social organization, was recently awarded more than $919,000 from the Hogg Foundation for Mental Heath to better serve the Hispanic community.

The money was awarded through the Hogg Foundation's three-year initiative, Cultural Adaptation: Providing Evidence-Based Practices to People of Color.
Curtis C. Monney, Ph.D., President and CEO of DePelchin's Center said, "With this new funding, DePelchin's will be able to further expand it's mental health services, paying special attention to one of Houston's most underserved audiences- Hispanic children and their families."
Currently, 46 percent of DePelchin's clients receiving psychological counseling are Hispanic, according to the center.
