HISD is hoping it’s dropout phone bank will get kids back in class.
Today and tomorrow Superintendent Abe Saavedra and volunteers will telephone homes of students who have not come back to school this year.
Volunteers will call homes to verify addresses and find out if students are enrolled elsewhere.
The phone bank will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow.
This effort is in preparation for Saturday’s massive door-to-door search for dropouts.
