A man was killed at the Aspen Ridge Apartments around 1:15 a.m. Friday.
Witnesses said the man was talking to two men outside his apartment when one of the suspects opened fire.
The victim died at the scene, and the suspects ran away.
Witnesses told police the suspects left in an dark-colored unknown type SUV toward the West Sam Houston Parkway.
Both suspects are believed to be 22 to 25 years old.
HPD said one suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, and the other was wearing dark clothing.
There was another fatal shooting at or near that apartment complex last month.
Other shootings took place in 2003 and 2004.
