What the media, blogs and others are saying about DISD today.

lunchtray.JPG

** One of our editorial writers ruminates about education and the next president. He says some focus should paid to the quality of schools in Mexico, seeing how they're *preparing* many children for school in cities like Dallas. I'm sure readers will have some thoughts on that.

** Some of the schools to be replaced/closed if the district opts for a new bond vote were recently renovated. Consultants warn that TIFs are messing with DISD enrollment trends.

** Dallas edublogger Learn Me Good offers his take on the recent "flunk 'em!" grade inflation dust up. Good comments there, too.

** Another DISD blogger expands a bit more on the high school reform post he put up a few days ago. I find his last paragraph most interesting.

Are there any plans to do similar blogs for the other school districts? Many of us live in Dallas but not in DISD

(Response: There has been chatter by some reporters to do something similiar in the districts they cover, but nothing has been finalized.)
