DISD is hosting a science fair for middle- and high-school students next weekend. The best projects will be judged in this contest, and an awards ceremony will be held afterward. If you've never been to a science fair, check it out. You'd be surprised at some of the projects. Last year, I was a judge in a science fair hosted at Paul Quinn College for much younger kids. One little girl experimented with ice cream by testing how long it would take to melt in the shade versus a refrigerator, while a boy tested batteries to see which brand lasted longer in running flashlights. Click here for details on DISD's science fair at 7 a.m., Saturday, February 9, at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, 1201 E. Eighth St. E-mail entry: |
