Last year, a Trammell Crow exec created a $1 million college scholarship fund for DISD students. Each year for five years, 10 college-bound seniors will receive $20,000 each from the Sulentic Family Foundation The district is now accepting applications. Click the link for more info. Scholarship recipients will be determined based strictly on three parameters: The district says that if a recipient must work while attending college, the scholarship may be utilized on a semester-by-semester basis, so long as the student completes at least nine credit hours at an accredited college, university, or community college each semester, and maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants cannot be related to a Dallas ISD employee, or to a member of the district’s Board of Trustees. Students may obtain a copy of the application here. |
