School monitor charged with murder had recent arrest

Warren Labon Davis, a school monitor at Tasby Middle School, who was booked in jail yesterday for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, had been arrested Christmas Day on a misdemeanor marijuana charge.

Yeah, I know, he was still working his DISD job after the marijuana arrest. But Mr. Davis did nothing wrong in not informing his bosses. DISD policy only requires employees to report arrests for felony-level offenses and incidents involving crimes of moral turpitude, such as public lewdness, prostitution and theft over $500.

As far as the murder charge, DISD spokesman Jon Dahlander says Mr. Davis has been placed on leave from his job.
