Another location for Paradise Bakery
Paradise Bakery (annoying music alert) recently opened in the former Storehouse Furniture space on Alpha Road, just north of the Galleria Dallas.
The California Turkey Sandwich is a pretty hearty lunch. Order it to go and eat half later. I could barely eat both halves of it.
Just try ordering something and not getting something sweet with it. Everything looks good — I liked the big, soft sugar cookies.
And the Alpha Road/Tollway store has a small sitting area in the back, with a TV. Perfect for those awaiting more-hardy Galleria hikers.

I've been twice and it's great - those cookies are everything I remember from Prestonwood Mall. But beware the line. It stretches out the door during peak times.

I went in once before Thanksgiving to buy bread. You walk in and they have baskets of what look like baguettes, boules and other French breads, like La Madeleine or Atlanta Bread or Panera. BUT those are FAKE loaves and they only carry, on-hand, big sandwich loaves. Not so good for TG dressing needs. It is really LESS OF A BAKERY than an eatery. Even Corner Bakery has a wide selection of nice breads! Perhaps the food is good but I will stick with Atl. B Co. down the block.

I went regularly to the downtown location (located under the Renaissance Tower) for most of this year. Great oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip pecan cookies. Also enjoyed the fresh-made salads and sandwiches (but usually avoided the pre-made paninis). The high volume of business downtown allows them to have a large, helpful staff. Now that I'm in North Dallas, I miss it.
