NICK%20REDFERN.jpg We interrupt our fashion and design news this Friday to bring you something completely different (because we're crazy like that): UFO sightings in Stephenville, Texas.

Still not convinced? Watch the video a la CNN's Anderson Cooper.

We asked Dallas' own resident expert on the paranormal, Nick Redfern, for his take on the situation. Click on the jump below to read his response.

Learn more about Redfern's adventures (including around White Rock Lake) in his new book, Memoirs of a Monster Hunter: A Five-Year Journey in Search of the Unknown, available at all major booksellers.

"The fact that the Stephenville UFO encounter was supported by the testimony of both a county constable and a pilot is, I personally believe, both significant and encouraging.

Pilots, of course, are trained to recognize what goes on in our skies. And so to have support for a UFO sighting from professionals is very encouraging.

Plus, additional witnesses reported that several military jets were chasing the UFO.

This is not unheard of and declassified Air Force files from the late 1940s and 1950s reveal a number of occasions when USAF aircraft were scrambled to intercept UFOs.

This new Texas case has caught not just national attention, but international attention too, and demonstrates that the UFO subject is one that still provokes interest, debate and controversy." - Nick Redfern

Excellent observations, Nick!

For those of us that have a long term interest in the paranormal, perhaps the visibility of the recent UFO sightings in Stephenville will encourage people to tell their tales!
