Robot roundup: prosthetic arms and robo-gas stations

I'm perpetually astounded by just how sophisticated modern robots have become.

Exhibit A:

Segway inventor and all around smart guy Dean Kamen shows off the robotic prosthetic arm his firm has created. Again, this isn't a pie-in-the-sky flying car that could be on the market in a decade or two.

The prototype is already fully functional and the final product could be on the market in a year or so.

And don't miss the stunning video.

Exhibit B:

Dutch inventors are reinventing the full-service gas station with a robotic gas pump that can recognize your car when you pull up, pop open the cap and insert the nozzle in the tank.

The goal is to have the 75,000 euro "Tankpitstop" gas-bot in a handful of Dutch filling stations by the end of the year.
